Busan Station is one of the major railway stations in South Korea, serving as a key transportation hub in the southeastern region. It is known for its large, modern building and its role as the starting and ending point for KTX high-speed trains connecting Busan to Seoul and other major cities.

If you cross the street from Busan Station or take Exit 5 and walk straight into the alley in front of you, you’ll find an interesting area waiting to be explored.
To your right is Texas Street, and to your left is Chinatown.

Along the way, you’ll also come across shops and restaurants run by people from Russia and Central Asia. Thanks to the mix of cultures, the air is filled with the delicious aromas of foods from all over the world, making it a truly unique and exotic experience.

The photo below shows "Sinbalwon," one of the most famous dumpling spots near Busan Station. They serve a variety of dumplings like steamed pork dumplings, fried dumplings, and spicy Mala dumplings.
I’ve tried them myself, and the moment you take a bite, the juicy filling just bursts in your mouth — absolutely delicious!

But there’s one downside… the long waiting lines. So, I recommend visiting on a weekday when it's less crowded to avoid the wait.

If you walk further into Chinatown, you’ll find the Choryang Modern History Gallery.
The space isn’t very large, but it offers a fascinating glimpse into how Choryang, the area where Busan Station is located, has developed over time.

Through historical photos, you can also see the story of Korea’s remarkable growth, which I personally found awe-inspiring.

That’s not all — although I couldn’t capture them in photos, there are also Central Asian grocery stores, traditional Chinese massage shops, and even nightlife spots like clubs that come alive in the evening.

Nearby, you’ll also find famous local restaurants such as Choryang Milmyeon (cold wheat noodles) and Choryang Bulbaek (spicy grilled pork with rice).

If you have some time while waiting for your train, I definitely recommend exploring the area! 🫰
