Today, I went to Eulsukdo, one of Busan’s famous spots.
Although the weather was hot and humid, it turned out to be truly refreshing and healing.
Eulsukdo is a sandbar island located in the Nakdong River estuary, formed by sediment deposits, and is known for its well-preserved natural environment.
Various wildlife, including migratory birds, swans, geese, and ducks, live there.

There’s no direct subway or light rail to get there.
You can take a bus from Hadan Station in Busan heading toward the Gangseo Depot.
There are several buses you can take, including numbers 171, 172, 3, 55, and 58.
You should get off at the Eulsukdo Cultural Center stop!

The place in this photo is the Nakdong River Estuary Bike Trail Certification Center, one of the endpoints of the national bike trail.
It has a drinking fountain and resting areas for cyclists, but what stood out the most was the tower—it was truly grand and impressive.

I can’t miss the planes flying right next to the tower :)

Nearby, there is also the Busan Regional Office of the Korea Water Resources Corporation, which is responsible for supplying water for the daily lives of Busan residents.
I couldn’t pass up the chance to visit and even went up to the observatory.

From the observatory, I could see the sluice gates and support structures of the Nakdong River Estuary Barrage.
The sluice gates were built to prevent seawater from flowing into the Nakdong River, while the support structures rely on deep bedrock and sand friction for stability.

Currently, the water that accumulates because the sluice gates are not opened tends to stagnate, which has been a headache for both Busan City and the Water Resources Corporation.
They are actively looking for solutions to address this issue.

This is the view of the Nakdong River Estuary Barrage and the Nakdong River from the rooftop. Isn’t it beautiful?

If you walk ahead from here in the direction of Gangseo District, you can also visit the Eulsukdo Cultural Center and the Busan Museum of Contemporary Art.
Just look at the exterior of the Busan Museum of Contemporary Art—it’s really unique, isn’t it

If you cross the pedestrian crosswalk here to the other side, you’ll come across the Busan Geo Park.

This place was truly wonderful.
When I visited today, there weren’t many people around.
Walking along the forest path lined with green-tinted trees under a clear blue sky, there was no noise—only the chorus of birds and cicadas, which made me feel even more at peace.

I didn’t want to end my visit just yet, so I crossed the bridge over the Nakdong River Estuary Barrage, and before I knew it, white seagulls were welcoming me.
They were so cute!

Some of them even perched on the streetlights, chirping away—it was fascinating to see.

Today, I enjoyed my very own trip to Eulsukdo.
Perhaps the sky was on my side, as the weather was clear and sunny, allowing me to walk, see a lot, and have a truly healing experience. :)

I hope many of you will visit Eulsukdo, where the river meets the sea.
It’s a place to feel both romance and relaxation.

Thank you for reading my story, and I hope you have an amazing day!
