Hello everyone,
How is your day going?
Today, I took a trip to the outskirts of Busan.
As expected, it was really hot again today,
but the beauty of nature made me forget all about the heat.
It turned out to be a wonderful and refreshing experience,
reminding me once again how healing such moments can be.

If you look at the photos above, you'll see that the sky was incredibly blue and the clouds looked like cotton candy.
The grass and trees were so lush and green—the scenery was truly beautiful.

Did you know that rice is the staple food of South Korea?
While passing through this area, I saw that rice farming was in full swing.

Typically, the rice farming process by season goes like this:

Spring (March to May):

  • Seed sowing: Rice seeds are sown in seed trays or nursery beds to grow seedlings.
  • Transplanting preparation: Fields are plowed and flooded in preparation for transplanting.

Summer (June to August):

  • Transplanting: The seedlings are moved from the nursery and planted in the rice paddies.
  • Growth management: The rice plants are nurtured with water control, fertilization, and weeding.
  • Pest and disease control: Measures are taken to prevent or respond to outbreaks.

Autumn (September to October):

  • Harvesting: Once the rice ripens, it is harvested by cutting the stalks.
  • Drying and threshing: The harvested rice is dried and threshed to extract the grains.

Winter (November to February):

  • Winter field care: Water is drained from the fields and preparations are made for winter.
  • Next season prep: The fields are tilled in preparation for the next planting season.

Since it's currently summer, the seedlings had already been transplanted into the paddies,
and the rice plants, shimmering in green, were growing healthily and vigorously.

I also saw airplanes taking off and landing nearby.
Watching them soar powerfully through the clear sky made my heart race for the first time in a while.
I personally hope that each of you will also rise and soar boldly, just like those airplanes.

Next is a scene of the rice plants swaying back and forth in the wind.
It almost looks as if they’re dancing to the rhythm of the breeze.
Take a moment to enjoy it!

What do you think about summer in South Korea?
Many locals and foreigners alike say that it’s not just the temperature, but the high humidity that makes it feel even hotter.
However, thanks to nature like this, we not only get valuable food, but also, at times, a cool, shady place to rest—
and that makes it all the more precious.

When you visit South Korea, big cities are great, of course,
but I personally suggest trying a small town or rural village too.
You might find a unique and refreshing experience waiting for you there.

Thank you for reading about my journey today.
Wishing you a happy and wonderful day~!
